Friend Makin' Monday: Movie Time!

It's time for Friend Makin' Monday again, coming to us from our friend Amber at aefilkins. This week's topic is

If life were a movie, which movie would you want to live in?

I had to think about this for a while. It has to be a movie I like, in which none of the main characters have anything significantly terrible happen to them, and which also has a happy ending. I love The Notebook, but fear Alzheimer's to the core of my being. I love Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon but come on...I'm not living like THAT. I'm not living in Shaun of the Dead either (me+zombies, even funny ones=no thank you). 10 Things I Hate About You was definitely a front runner, but I decided that I would not appreciate being in high school for the rest of my life.

So my pick is Pride and Prejudice.

I love this movie (and the book of course). Both Elizabeth and the ravishing Mr. Darcy live unaffected by illness or terrible tragedy, and they end up together happily ever after-perfectly suited for each other. Also, it takes place in 18th/early 19th Century England which has always seemed beautiful and romantic to me. As long as I got to be Elizabeth and Hubby got to be the heart throbbingly fabulous Mr. Darcy I think I'd be happy there.

What movie would you live in? Join Friend Makin' Monday and share!

I have never read the book or seen the movie. I thought it would be one assigned to me in High school but alas no.

I always thought it would be exciting to live in Pirates of the Caribbean or even Titanic! Two of my favorite movies. They both have their downsides of living in them though. With Titanic, I had better make sure I was one of the lucky ones who got on a life boat...And with Pirates of the Caribbean, I don't care who I am or what I do...just as long as I get to be Captain Jack Sparrow's lover :)

This was my pick too! My all time favorite movie.

you and me both. I remember watching the black and white version of this back when I was only eleven. I thought the mom and dad were just to funny.

Great book, great story - but I do not like this version of the film! Kiera Knightley makes me cringe and all the humour of Jane Austen's novel has been completely lost. The Jennifer Ehle/Colin Firth is far superior!

Great choice though. I think mine would be Muriel's Wedding.

I'm not gonna lie. When this came out, I didn't want to like it, but, it has "bewitched me body and soul and I lo-, I lov-, I love" it!

Ah, yes...Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. I almost picked Pride and Predjudice, but went with whimsical Emma instead. I think I'm more like Emma than Elizabeth.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog yesterday! I love you blog and will be back for more! :)

I noticed this post underneath your post for today. I love Pride and Prejudice. In fact I just wrote about that the other day too...only you and I differ on our favorite P&P version. I prefer the Colin Firth A&E one. My good friend and I are always disagreeing on the best Mr. Darcy - she prefers the Mathew McFayden one. I've long wanted to be Elizabeth Bennett. I just love her...and Mr. Darcy too of course!

I love this movie, too! I am in the middle of the book right now. It is just as wonderful.

OOOH YEA!! I watch this movie at least once per month. I have a terrible crush on Mr. Darcy! I'm really glad I'm married to a man just like him, or I could have some issues!:)

Such a great film. It's a top runner, but maybe for me it would be The English Patient or The End of the Affair. Pretty much anything with Ralph Fiennes.

This particular version? Definately NOT. But the 1995 version, absolutely!

I LOVE lOVE LOVE this movie...and I do think the idea of living in a Jane Austin book is wonderful. For the longest time, I actually feel like one of my past lives are somewhat represented in her writing. Great Choice...Happy Yesterday SITS day!

Oooooh for me it would be CLUELESS!

AS IF!

or Pretty Woman except I wouldn't want to actually be a hooker. Maybe we could just fast forward through that chapter of my life and get to the good.
