Murphy's Law of Parenting

It never fails....

If you are trying to eat, you will have to scrape the kids food off the table and back onto their plates first.

If you are trying to pee, the kids will demand to come with you and watch.

If you are trying to blog, the kids will (very quietly, just out of your line of sight) try to do whatever it is you've been telling them not to all day.

If you are trying to work, the kids will have all new dire needs every five seconds.

If you are trying to talk on the phone, the universe as you know it may collapse.

If you are trying to spend five minutes with your spouse, someone will have a nightmare/pee the bed/decide they absolutely cannot sleep without the only dirty pair of pajamas in the house.

BUT it is equally true that the moment you think you are going to have to be committed, the kids will do something so cute and so sweet you can't do anything except adore them...and that's what parenthood is all about.

Amen to that last point! Whenever I'm on the verge of a total breakdown, the boys do something so sweet (an expression, a smile, just holding my hand) that makes everything OK again.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this!
